How to get to EARIST?

-LuzPD (Es the directioner)

Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) is a chartered state college of the Philippines on Nagtahan Road in Manila. The college became famous for its excellence in voc-tech education programs. From being a voc-tech institution, it evolved into offering other baccalaureate, master's and doctorate degrees. (http://www.facebook.com/earist/info)

Earist is in the university belt area. Its near Polytechnic University of the Philippines and a bit distant to Arellano University. The place is quite easy to be searched because its just across M. Dela Fuente and along Valencia street. There will be no turning lefts and rights, just simple elementary tracking the road.

To go to EARIST, you can go different transportation vehicles.

Easiest way is when the you take Ramon Magsaysay boulevard, vehicle (bus or  even PUJs) can drop you down to Nagtahan flyover, then by walk, you can see this college readily. Same thing when you go trains. If you take LRT2, you can land to either Pureza or Legarda station ( I prefer Pureza, its much closer than Legarda) Again, by walk, you can already find the institution. Just be sure to see these signs in case you will be lost.

We’re not what others think!

E-vizz

PUP, known as the “Iskolar ng Bayan”, home of the champions, makers of the Brilliant, the Best and the Brightest individual and molded by bravery and wisdom against hardships and struggles. Who might say that this institute is the cheaper among all? Cheaper or may I say cheapest, in terms of the tuition and other fees that is just a single penny to others but quality and standard in giving education to every individual who choose to be here, the best knowledge to gain for their start ups after the four years of learning. Despite of the optimistic views that are listed above, PUP also has its negative issue, an issue that creates not just a bad image for the university but also a dim reputation for the entire faculty, the professors and not for the students.

We’re Not All an Activist! “PUP…TULOY ANG LABAN!”…KARAPATAN (3x)!”, “EDUKASYON (3x)!” … those are some of the battle cry that is usually heard all over the university. Some are getting annoyed and irritated, some are made for it and some don’t even care at all. Their struggling shouts and full of bravery voices makes the whole campus disturbed, but still they are unstoppable. I’m writing this not because I’m against them, in fact, the things they are doing are worth for they are doing it concerning the university and to remain PUP as the home of the financially challenged students. My point is, other Universities mostly from well- known class or in the upper class stereotyping all the PUP students that when you choose to study there, they will be treated as one of them; an ACTIVIST.
That scenario reminds me of the past. When I was in first year college, we had a family reunion and I met some of my cousins who graduated from different universities, well known universities. They know that I am studying at PUP my elder cousin said “so…Aktibista ka din?” and laughs. I can’t help but not to talk.
I feel sad that the school I chose to is not good as I see. But things do change. When I was invited by them to a birthday party and open up the same topics again, I didn’t do the same thing instead I defended myself in such ironic words; “Porke PUP, aktibista agad?” in that little words everything change in one reason, I’m not what other thinks but I could be just like them on my own way. I could defend myself as how I defend my beloved school for the whole. And this is how I want my school to be recognized; The Home of the Brave and the Bold!
